Free Website a set of standardized clothes—worn primarily for an educational institution. They are common in primary and secondary schools in various countries (see list of countries below). When used, they form the basis of a school's dress code. Boys' uniforms often consist of dark short or long trousers and a light-coloured shirt, often with a tie. Girls' uniforms vary greatly between countries and schooling systems, but typically consist of a dress or a blouse worn either with a skirt or culottes or under a pinafore; some countries allow girls to wear trousers. The use of a blazer or suit-like jacket for either gender is also fairly common, especially in countries with relatively cold weather. Schools uniforms are generally compulsory in India, from primary to higher-secondary level. Some schools in the cities, especially those professing affiliation to foreign educational boards, do not have any uniforms. Boys' uniforms often consist of light-coloured shirt, usually blue or white, and dark long or short trousers. Girls' uniforms are most often shirt and skirt, especially at the primary level. While privately run schools continue with the same uniforms for secondary and higher secondary girl students, government-aided schools schools employ Shalwar kameez or Saree for girls at these levels. Certain schools require their students to wear a tie; especially many schools run by Christian missionaries. As a policy decision, the Indian government does not ban children from sporting religious symbols. Some Muslim girls wear a veil and many Sikh boys a turban in addition to the school uniform. Most schools, whether public or private, prohibit the students from wearing long hair and/or colouring it.
